MacLean a winner of ‘Our Digital Stories’

Ali MacLean received the Honorable Mention from Exposition Review, a literary journal, for their Our Digital Stories series.

The collaboration between the literary journal and the digital film outlet called for short-form work set within the digital world, through the lens of a computer or a phone. This unique prompt was a reflection of the past year and how the social limitations of the pandemic also created new opportunities to tell and share our stories.

MacLean’s piece The Day It All Came Down, is a scene from her play This Will Be Our Year. The story finds Hugo and Gen, who have been separated for some time, reunited by a tragedy.

Exposition Review is an independent, multi-genre literary journal that publishes narratives by new, emerging, and established writers in the genres of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, stage & screen, experimental, visual art, and comics. Founded by the alumni of the Master of Professional Writing Program at University of Southern California, Exposition Review maintains the multi-genre tradition and spirit of MPW and its literary journal, the Southern California Review, after the program closed its doors in 2016.
