Ali MacLean announced today her participation in the third-annual Mental Health Action Day held on Thursday, May 18 with more than 1,800 other leading companies, brands, nonprofits and cultural leaders globally.
In 2021, MTV Entertainment Group and partners launched the first Mental Health Action Day to shift the culture of mental health. With 1,800+ partners and millions of individual participants from across 32 countries, this year the focus is on deepening impact.
This year’s Mental Health Action Day theme, planned in partnership with TaskForce, is ACTION. What if everyone dedicated one hour to take action for their mental health?

As a Mental Health Ambassador, and this year a Partner with MTV and Taskforce, Ali will help empower people around the globe to take action for mental health, whether for themselves, for their loved ones or to advocate for systemic changes in their community.

Thursday, May 18, 2023, during Mental Health Awareness Month, on Mental Health Action Day the goal is to shift mental health culture from awareness to action:
One hour for yourself, your loved ones, or your community.
Last year Ali created content with stand-outs in the entertainment and media field, such as Frank Black (lead singer of the Pixies), Wil Wheaton (author and actor from Star Trek), Eric Lange (actor from Perry Mason and Escape from Dannemora), Craig Finn (lead singer of The Hold Steady), Michael Ian Black, (comedian and author), and many more.

Topics such as mental health awareness, being creative with depression and anxiety, and how to thrive under pressure were discussed. This year Ali is collaborating with a Fuse Network creative, creating pre-taped and live content that will directly address this year’s mission.
Additional participants and more information about how each partner will activate on May 18 will be forthcoming. More on Mental Health Action Day and a current list of partners can be found at www.MentalHealthActionDay.org
