MacLean’s This Will Be Our Year was listed as number one.
This Will Be Our Year is a rock-n-roll drama which follows the star crossed romance of Gen, a struggling New York designer, and Hugo, a fledgling British rock star, as they come together, fall apart, and destroy each others lives over ten years in the 90’s/00’s.
The play is unique in that it isn’t a conventional musical, but more like the intersection of rock concert and love story. It has been called Nothing Hill meets Sid & Nancy. Other comparisons are: Once, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Stereophonic, A Star Is Born, and The Last 5 Years.
The play has gone through a musical redevelopment over the past year, with a new workshop forthcoming.
