Ali received a California Arts Grant as well as a stipend from ANDTheatre Company to attend the Summer Salt Playwriting Workshop for the second time.

MacLean traveled to beautiful Chatham, MA on Cape Cod to adapt her short play The Point (a virtual pandemic play at ANDTheatre) into a full length.

For a week, at the Dodds estate, playwrights MacLean, Jeremy Karaken (Lifespan of a Fact), actor Tom Riis Farrell , Cheryl Games, Daryl Phillipy, and Triza Cox were led by Jeffrey Sweet and Kristine Niven in improv exercises for each respective project in order to further the writing process. At the end of the week, a performance of scenes was enjoyed by locals.

Also enjoyed by the playwrights were the fish and chips and soft serve at the Kream n Kone

and the local flavor at the Chatham Squire.
